A loan can help with a medical bill, a car repair or another need, but only if the payments fit your budget. Use this page to think it through before you apply.
Installment loan or payday loan?
A signature installment loan is repaid in scheduled payments over several months. Listo Loans offers installment loans of $100 to $1,340 with terms of 4 to 18 months, no balloon payment and no prepayment penalty. Paying early can save you unearned interest. Loan amounts and terms may change; your exact terms are confirmed at application.
A payday loan is usually due in one lump sum on your next payday. Listo Loans is not a payday or credit access business lender. See our comparison: payday loan alternative in El Paso.
Budgeting checklist
- List your monthly income after taxes.
- List fixed bills: rent, utilities, insurance, phone, transportation.
- Subtract them to see what is left each month.
- Decide the largest monthly payment you can make without missing other bills.
- Borrow only the amount you need.
- Read the loan agreement, including the APR, finance charge and payment schedule, before you sign.
- Ask about the payment date and how you will pay: at the branch, by phone with a debit card, or by automatic draft from checking or savings.
